Former New York Giants offensive lineman Korey Cunningham was found dead Thursday inside his Clifton home, police confirm.
Clifton Police Detective Lt. Robert Bracken told News 12 that officers responded to Cunningham’s home at 1:15 p.m. after the family had not heard from him. He says police officers forced entry into Cunningham’s home, where he was found deceased. He was 28 years old.
Cunningham’s death is under investigation. Bracken says there was no indication of foul play. He says police cannot confirm or determine yet if Cunningham’s death was self-inflicted.
Cunningham was born in Montevallo, Alabama. He played football for the University of Cincinnati and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2018 NFL draft. He played for the Giants from 2021-2022.
The Giants released a statement on social media saying Cunningham "was a vital part of the spirit and camaraderie of the locker room."
