Home is where the heart is for New Yorkers, and that's what New York Now: Home photo exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York is attempting to capture.
Bronx photographer Roy Baizan says home for him is no longer defined by a physical structure, but who lives there and where it exists.
"It's not a singular place for me anymore," he says. "At this point in my life, it's about the connections that I make around me that make it feel like home."
Baizan captured Mott Haven and its people where he grew up. He says he's working to break down misconceptions about the Bronx.
The works of 33 artists are displayed in dynamic ways, including the period of COVID-19, immigration, disability, parks, refugees, and in a variety of formats that'll grab attention.
The museum is open Thursday through Monday starting at 10 a.m. Tickets can be bought at the door or online, and kids can enter for free.
